Christian Stewardship

Christian Stewardship is the believer's recognition that all one has belongs to God.  As a believer, we know that the grace of God is a free and unmerited gift, therefore, we rest upon this grace relationship with God.  This relationship is understood in light of believers first giving themselves to God in unqualified dedication (2 Cor. 8:5).  A true commitment of self to God includes all that one is and has; life, time, strength, ability, ideals, and property (1 Cor. 6:20; 7:23; 1 Peter 1:18, 19).

One of the premier examples of Christian Stewardship is tithing.  It is an expression of devotion from the giver and recognition of God's sovereignty.

The Bible admonishes us that the purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives.  (Deut. 14:23 LB).  God will sustain grace-giving with limitless temporal resources (2 Cor. 9:8-10).

Mt. Zion is committed to the TITHING MODEL and believes it demonstrates responsible stewardship.  We take the commands of our Lord seriously.  When Jesus tells us to go into all the world and spread the Gospel, we believe that our giving confirms our love of Christ and our recognition of His sovereignty.  He is our provider and is worthy of all praise and glory.  Our TITHE is an expression of our love!!
